Every photo shoot I do has so much behind the scenes “prep work” that is invested far before your session date. From posing to locations to styling, hours are invested before we even meet the day of your photo shoot.
I always have a detailed plan which ties all the pieces together - but I learned many years ago… sometimes the best plans have edits. :)
This was one of those family portrait sessions. It was a 3 month milestone photo shoot with parent portraits. I had the perfect dreamy sunrise location selected, the forecast was beautiful and all things were in order and ready to produce magical moments.
Until…
the very morning of the photo shoot, raindrops began to fall, raindrops that were nowhere in the forecast, raindrops that were no where to be found on any of my multiple weather apps and raindrops that would inevitably skew the plans in place.
Moments like this - I am so grateful to have a studio space as a backup when needed. I always offer clients the option to re-schedule outdoors or to move in-studio. They opted to move in-studio - stay tuned for those amazing 3 month baby portraits that I’ll be sharing soon!
But today I wanted to focus on these moments above. This was not the original location I had selected. In fact, I stumbled across this location when I pulled over to capture the amazing sunrise that morning! I’m a firm believer that all things work together with purpose and this location was gifted to me!
The blooms were beautiful and the high contrast architecture in the background was stunning too!
So just know when the best plans come unraveled, it’s just making space for a beautiful revision. I couldn’t be happier with this beautiful floral family photo shoot.
