Festive and fun family portraits have been underway for many, many weeks at the studio and in the beauty of nature too!
Pro Tip: Photographing Toddlers
We are often asked how we photograph busy toddlers. My response: I love toddlers - I truly do! Their little personalities are in full bloom, they are expressive, fun and energetic! I giggle so much at all the cute little things they do during our time together.
I take a low-stress approach because little ones can sense any hint of stress and they react to that, which is not the desired outcome. Toddlers and pre-schoolers often are full of energy exploring the big world around them. It does take a special approach, lots of experience and the confidence to trust the process. All the personality and energy when captured on camera turn into pure magic - highlighting these special moments will warm your heart. There may be some moments that “feel” like utter chaos :) but trust me- no one wants you to have beautiful memories and a wonderful portrait experience more than I do! I have been professionally photographing little ones for over 16 years, every little one is different… but all can be photographed in a beautiful way that allows their little souls to shine though in every image.
Studio update: We will resume normal studio hours beginning 1/5/26, after the conclusion of our family Christmas vacation. Until then, I’m making the most of the quiet moments by sharing some of this year’s favorite Christmas portraits. I am sadly so far behind sharing peeks from recent sessions, but I will be doing my best to focus on some memorable moments in the days ahead as we welcome in the new year!
